Halloween: the night when freebie-loving college kids drape themselves in aluminum foil and line up from counter to curb in order to cash in on Chipotle's dress-like-a-burrito-get-a-burrito offer. We discovered this apparently annual phenomenon last night when The Husband innocently suggested dinner at Chipotle as a cap to a successful evening of trick-or-treating. Having not known in advance, we fished for foil from nearby garbage cans and wrapped it about ourselves -- tucked under the hairband part of Isabella's mermaid costume and slightly molded onto Finn's head -- and pathetically prostrated our dignity for the sake of $24. Actually, that's not a bad deal.
The burrito bowls were YUCKY (too salty by a mile, espeically the ubiquitous rice) but they were free so I'm not complaining.
QUIZ RESULTS: 70 percent of Yummy or Yucky readers knew that gado gado is an Indonesian vegetable salad! A-plus! One quiz taker fell for the trick answer "The sound Vanessa makes when she's sleeping." I will say that my snoring is very similar to "gado gado" but not quite. Sorry, Charlie!
