I am not a fan of eel sushi (too sweet, those tiny hairs; EW!), but I backed myself into eating some for lunch today because I hovered at the in-store sushi kiosk. The sushi-maker man was doing such a lovely job draping slices of avocado over a roll that I was seduced into buying one without knowing that a "caterpiller roll" is an eel roll. I couldn't very well put it back after standing there like a vulture for five minutes. It was OK -- sweet, due to the eel and the brown sauce drizzled over it -- but at least it was fresh and not terribly expensive at $6.95 (nine huge mouth-stuffing pieces). Nothing worse than store sushi that's been solidfying in the cold case since the morning shift.
She says: YUMMY. But I wouldn't do it again.
